A true paradise called “Cascada Blanca” is located between the municipalities of “La Dalia” and Matagalpa.
This is a wild reserve of approximately 8 blocks of forest, here you can find trails, caves, a thrilling waterfall formed by the waters of the “Santa Emilia” River, a tributary of the “Yasica” River, a great variety of flora and fauna, and of course mystical legends.
How to get ?
“Cascada Blanca” is located at Km 147 of the “Matagalpa-La Dalia” road, this reserve is part of a whole natural complex known as “Salto de Santa Emilia”, this name is due to a Matagalpine community near this paradise.
If you go by public transport you must go to the “COTRAN Norte” terminal in the city of Matagalpa, and board a bus to “La Dalia”, “Waslala” or “Rancho Grande”.

If you go by private transport you can take the road to “La Dalia” and go to kilometer 147, a point located about 25 minutes from the city of Matagalpa.
What to do ?
The cost of admission to the reserve is “C$ 70 córdobas” ($2 approximately), offers to enter its caves, walk through its waterfalls and even take a dip, its new attraction is kayaking.
For lunch or breakfast there are dishes from “C$ 130 córdobas” ($3 approximately), the food is offered at the time of ordering.
The place offers lodging and a new massage center.
The imposing waterfall tells the story of a forbidden love that has transcended time.
Víctor Veizaga, owner of this special place, says that the jump is the result of the sacrifice of Yasica and Yaguare, two brothers from an indigenous tribe who loved each other despite not being allowed, so they left the world converted into a single beam of Light and water.
